At Stourbridge Dental & Implant Clinic, our lovely Sports and Rehab consultant Laura Mas offers Lymphatic Drainage Massage.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage (or Therapy) involves a light and rhythmic pressure to the skin. As it works in the lymph areas of your body it supports your immune system so that your body can respond better to certain illnesses or traumas your body may encounter.
It is excellent during or after a course of dental treatment especially as there are many lymph nodes in certain areas of the head and neck. What is also important to note is that dental infections can trigger an immune response with lymph nodes becoming swollen during these infections and therefore lymphatic drainage massage can support and enhance the immune system during these situations.
Reduces Swelling: When you have had some dental treatment for example a tooth extraction you may encounter swelling and therefore a lymphatic drainage therapy can support the reduction of any swelling after this treatment.
At Stourbridge Dental & Implant Clinic we adopt a multi disciplinary approach and therefore we offer more complex treatments such as dental implants as well as oral surgery conducted by our oral surgeon Luis Bruzual. Therefore we would advise having a course of lymphatic drainage so that you heal at a better rate and more efficiently. Swelling can compress nerves and cause individuals to be in more pain. A lymphatic massage alleviates pressure and therefore will hopefully reduce an individual’s pain.
Improving your lymphatic system will ensure that the substances that cause the inflammation are removed from your system and therefore there is a better environment in your body for tissue repair.
