Inlays are used internally to fill the affected tooth, similar to a filling. Onlays are used externally to cover the cusp or tip of the tooth.
They can be used to treat moderate tooth/teeth decay and slight tooth/teeth fracture, again depending on the individual case a white filling or dental crown may be more appropriate.

An impression of the affected area will then be taken and sent to a dental laboratory to be custom engineered for you. Once the custom Inlays/Onlays have arrived the dentist will simply fit them to the affected teeth, providing you with complete protection.
